Recent Highlights from Dr. Michael Laitman’s Personal Blog

The cause of the global crisis is in our miscalculating the program of nature. Our relationships with each other and with the environment should be developed towards a state of Adam (human), i.e. the similarity to the upper force of nature and the property of bestowal and love. It is the complete interaction of the whole of humanity, as all parts of nature on the still, vegetative and animate levels are connected with each other. Do You Know the Spiritual Reason for Suffering?

Do You Know the Spiritual Reason for Suffering

The Meaningfulness of Hopelessness

Prior to creation, the Creator alone existed. The process of creation begins when the Creator singles out a certain part of Himself in order to endow it, in the future, with certain different characteristics. By endowing this part with a sense of its own self, the Creator essentially “ejects” it from Himself.

This endowed part constitutes our “I.” The distance of the endowed part from the Creator is the disparity in characteristics between the Creator and this part; it is perceived as “concealment of the Creator.” Since this part cannot sense the Creator, there is a void between it and Him, generated by the part’s egoistic characteristics.

The Burning Need Today to Rise to a New Level

The Burning Need Today to Rise to a New Level

Today, we are compelled to rise to a new level. In order to do so, all of nature’s forces are concentrated on our ascent, urging and forcing us to rise. The wisdom of Kabbalah has become revealed in order to helps us rise and exit to the next level.

How Will We Build a Future Society?

Firstly, we must get a general idea about our world’s state today in order to understand where it is sliding, and what precipice it is heading to. Secondly, we must realize that we, humanity, have no way of overcoming any problem.

The solution is to become like nature. Nature is entirely global and integral. We are all mutually linked around the world. We thus need to have the same form as nature. Then, we will reach wholeness.

What Does ‘Envy, Lust and Honor Bring a Man Out of the World’ Mean?

What Does Envy, Lust and Honor Bring a Man Out of the World Mean?

If we could turn this outbreak of desires into an outbreak of desires for spirituality, then these desires would be the best thing that ever happened to humanity. Since we are currently not doing it, they are the worst thing that ever happened to us.

When the Mishnah sages (first and second centuries CE) declare that “Envy, lust, and honor bring a man out of the world” (Mishnah, Avot 4:21), Kabbalah explains that they don’t mean it in a bad way. On the contrary, it means that if you know how to work with these desires, they will elevate you beyond your present reality, your present world, and let you into the spiritual world.

In the last several years, it has become increasingly evident that human society isn’t becoming more united. Instead, we are showing, and even nurturing, alienation, animosity among nations, among different factions of the same nation, and even among members of the same family. At the same time, globalization is forcing us to increase and tighten our level of cooperation on all the levels we just mentioned. This tension is now culminating, and humanity is on the verge of exploding.

Do You Apply Nature’s Principle of Survival and Well-Being to Your Life?

quote_organism

The human body is possibly the most vivid example of the modus operandi of yielding self-interest before the interest of the host system in return for the system’s protection. In the human body, as in any organism, each cell has a particular role. For the organism to persist, each cell must perform its function to the best of its ability and replace the goal of maintaining its own life with the goal of maintaining the life of its host organism.

If a cell begins to act contrary to that principle, its interests will soon clash with those of the body and the body’s defense mechanisms will destroy it. Otherwise, it is likely to create a tumor of insubordinate cells that strive to consume the body’s resources for their own benefit. When such a process occurs, we diagnose it as “cancer.”

If the cancer wins, the body dies and the tumor dies along with it. If the body wins and the cancer dies, the body persists, along with the cells of the organ that did not become malignant, and the self-centered cells are extinguished. This is Nature’s failsafe mechanism for ensuring that self-centered systems will not exist. Here, too, there is nothing miraculous; it is simply that self-centered mechanisms invariably consume themselves to extinction because they end up consuming their food supply.

Thus, it is in the interest of all cells in the body to dispose of the tumor. Put differently, to guarantee the survival of elements in a system, the elements in that system must cater to the well-being of the system before they cater to their own well-being. In return, the system will cater to their well-being and provide for their survival.

The principle explained just now is valid not only for particles, atoms, and organisms, but for all of life. By applying it, all elements in Nature learn to yield their self-centered natures to an altruistic nature, which considers the good of the collective before its own good.

How can you and humanity as a whole learn examples from nature in order to best survive and prosper? This topic and more are tackled in the Free Kabbalah Course, 20 lessons that will change your life in 10 weeks. The course just started and registration closes soon. Don’t miss out!…
