People are obviously becoming bored with toys and distractions but they don’t know that anything else exists so they use what is here for a sense of immortality. I believe that some can get their minds into a state that is telling them that the power they will achieve through crossing the “forbidden borders” will liberate them…..there is the appearance that they’ll be liberated from this world or the small, disatisfying world they are dwelling in. During an episode like this a person experiences a tremendous adrenaline rush, a kind of intoxication and then a distortion of reality not unlike the drugs and crossing of social boundaries experienced by the children of the Sixties. This is the new, more malevolent variety of intoxication and instant power and can be had by the common person, even children, our most powerless citizens.
